Hello---and welcome to my website! I am so glad you are able to reach out for help. From a personal standpoint, I understand that finding the right resources and treatment is often overwhelming.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in the emotional and behavioral health needs of women before, during, and after their pregnancy. I provide a compassionate, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment and will work with you to develop a deeper understanding of your experience.
When I had my two children, it felt like there were very few specialists in the area that could understand my unique experience. I found myself wanting to talk with someone who understood the postpartum period, and the challenges I was experiencing (frustration, isolation, anxiety, etc.). It is because of this experience that I have a passion for assisting women and their families deal with the challenges associated with the perinatal period and beyond. I believe that women deserve support and access to resources in order to navigate this often-stressful period. While perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are one of the most common, and under reported, complications of childbirth, they are also one of the most treatable. Many women can benefit from guidance on how to access resources and supports. I have tailored my practice to specialize in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I regularly attend trainings specific to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to be up to date on the most recent research and treatment recommendations available.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and two children, traveling, and researching perinatal mood disorders. My husband and I are also licensed foster parents in Connecticut, and enjoy providing respite care to children in need.
