Counseling Sessions

Before scheduling a session, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to review your treatment needs, answer any questions you may have, and determine if my services would be a good fit for you. During the consult, we will also review insurance reimbursement and payment options.
What to Expect
Seeking treatment for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders can be a daunting task, especially if you are already feeling overwhelmed with pregnancy and/or a new baby. My aim is to make treatment as convenient as possible, and set out a clear plan as to what our time together will entail.
During our time working together, you can expect:
-to review the symptoms you are experiencing, and develop coping skills
-to create a self-care plan to ensure you are taking care of yourself (both physically and emotionally)
-to utilize additional resources---such as groups for mothers, or couples therapy (if indicated)
-collaboration with other medical providers, including your primary care physician and/or OB/GYN/CNM/APRN
I also provide educational material to all my clients, so that you can be informed about the symptoms you are experiencing.

My Office
I have designed my office to meet the unique needs of pregnant women and mothers with infants/toddlers---with an emphasis on comfort and convenience for you and your family.
I offer:
- a fully stocked diaper changing station*
- healthy snacks, bottled water, and decaf tea
- a small play area within my office for your toddler/child with crafts, puzzles, and games for entertainment
- first floor access, making it easy to maneuver a stroller along with ample parking close to building
- baby swing as needed*
*Please note: To be sensitive to all my clients’ needs, all baby-specific items are stored discreetly and are available upon request.
